Welcome to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by the delirious Disney Day by Day!
We interrupt our weekly recap of the 2012 Food and Wine booths for a very special Earl of Sandwich review....
You guys may remember my first Earl of Sandwich review of the Full Montagu and the Original 1762 (and the Coronet Cakes): here. Well when Sarah of the Eating WDW blog started participating in the Eat Each Sandwich challenge, I knew I had to join in as well! For links to the rest of my reviews, scroll down!
It was my birthday recently and thanks to a tip from a Disney blogger, I had signed up for the EoS newsletter just in time for my coupon for a free birthday sandwich! I also got a coupon for a free triple chocolate brownie (which hasn't changed since my last review) just for signing up.
As previously reported by Eating WDW, Earl recently changed their menu and this must be company-wide because when I went to their Manhattan location, the Cannonballs were no longer listed (even though they're still online). So sad! I never got to try them!
Instead, I ordered the Pastrami Reuben on wheat. The sandwich is new and not listed on the website yet. Of course it features a nice amount of pastrami (good texture, decent flavor) and sauerkraut (nice texture, no flavor but that's fine by me).
There was also definitely mustard and very light Thousand Island dressing which I appreciated since this EoS has a history of over-dressing its sandwiches. The lighter dressing really made the sandwich more balanced.
As usual with Earl, I wish the flavors popped just a LITTLE bit more, but overall, this guy is a winner.
R.I.P. Cannonballs, I never knew ye.

mmm Earl, looks good, glad to hear the sauerkraut didn't have much flavor as that would turn me away from this sandwich. Thanks for sharing and linking up this week!
