Word**** Wednesday Topsider Buffet Breakfast

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the delectable Deb!

Another disappointing meal on the June 2012 Weekend DCL Cruise from NYC - breakfast at Topsider Buffet.  I have never been to a Cici's but I have seen the commercials and I am guessing this is the level of quality you get at that place too.  It was edible.  That's the best I can do guys.

Destination Disney Quote #14

I don't always play along on this blog hop - not because it's not an AWESOME blog hop (LOVE Heidi!) but because sometimes the quotes don't speak to me or I don't have a good photo for it.

This quote spoke to me today.  Primarily because I just got dumped by someone I really liked.  I have been against dating for many years (causes more pain than happiness over all) but this one was compelling . . . and I got punched in the gut (metaphorically) yet again.  Sigh.

I am enormously sad but I still like myself.  A lot.  Enough to know I am worth protecting and never to risk heartbreak again.  Walt was right: the more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique.

So, sorry for being so emo today.  Here's a picture to make up for it:

That's me, my mom, and my sister (who surprised us at the Orlando airport on the last WDW trip I took with my mom).  I was so happy.  I hope to be that happy again soon.

Word---- Wednesday: DCL Parrot Cay Dinner

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the delicious Deb!

It's been a while since I blogged about the Weekend NYC cruise on the Disney Magic last June.  Here are some pics from our 1st dinner at Parrot Cay.

This was my appetizer - curry chicken wrapped in phyllo dough with a cinnamon dusting.  It was dry.  And unremarkable.  I was disappointed.

My entree was forgettable - literally.  I forgot what I had.  The food at DCL's main restaurants are below par (Palo being an exception - check out an upcoming post on that).

Then the CM brought me the wrong dessert.  I didn't say anything though because truly I was torn between whatever I really ordered and the sugar-free chocolate torte with pistachio gel below.  It was fine.  Unimpressive.

Disney Electric Holiday at Barneys Part IV

At last you've made it to the merchandise!  There's a ton of sweets - including those lovely Disney apples, lollipops, cookies, truffles, and chocolates.  They have toys and home goods too - and all interspersed among vintage Disney toys which are super neat to look at!  If anyone wants to buy me one of those pink bow lollipops for $6-8, I can send you my address . . .

I bought a series of 5 truffles for $34.  You can check them out here!

Disney Electric Holiday at Barneys Part III!

If you are actually able to resist those pretty cakes, then you can stroll past some displays of antique Disney toys on your left, and screens with Disney cartoons on your right . . .

Wordless (- less + y) Wednesday!

Welcome back to another "Wordless" Wednesday hosted by the deft Deb!

It is Walt's birthday today of course.  So I COULD have posted this picture again since Walt is in here.  But instead I decided to go with something COMPLETELY random and barely related: Mickey toilet paper!

A certain klepto family member of mine may have swiped this from a Disney trip many years ago.  I don't know why we kept it but we did.  Isn't the cover cute?

Okay fine my mom added the Minnie Mouse tape because the original glue dried over time.

Disney Electric Holiday at Barneys Part II!

Inside Barneys, Disney characters deck the walls in the escalator bank:

After you can't resist the shoe floor . . . you finally reach the top floor where there is a display of gorgeous cakes!!

Disney Electric Holiday at Barneys!

One of the bonuses of living where I live is instant access to the greatest city on earth: New York City.  So of COURSE I had to go check out the Disney-themed holiday display at Barney's this weekend!

The window features a cartoon short of Minnie Mouse dreaming about being a model in Paris.  The same short is available for indoor viewing at a small theater on the top floor too.  Here are some pics from the window and theater.  I have a bunch of other pics of the display so stay tuned!!!

"Wordless" Wednesday Chip & Dale "Goldfish" -type snacks

Welcome back to another "Wordless" Wednesday hosted by the discerning Deb!  Today we have some shots of the Goldfish-type cracker by Chip & Dale.  When we boarded the ship, my dad wanted some snacks so we ordered those plus two big bags of Disney-brand pretzels (Mickey-shaped, the size of quarter) and popcorn.  All were good.  Not amazing, but they hit the spot of course.
