Favorite Food Friday: Earl of Sandwich's Club plus cupcakes!!!

Welcome back to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by the daring Disney Day by Day!

You guys may remember my first Earl of Sandwich review of the Full Montagu and the Original 1762 (and the Coronet Cakes): here.

Well when Sarah of the Eating WDW blog started participating in the Eat Each Sandwich challenge, I knew I had to join in as well!  I also reviewed the Chicken Chipotle Avocado Sandwich (and their chocolate chip coookie) and the All American Sandwich (plus oatmeal mini cookies)!

Today we try the Earl's Club on wheat, which has turkey, bacon, Swiss, "sandwich sauce" lettuce and tomato.

As you can see, it was very soggy.  The sauce seemed to be some kind of mayo/thousand island dressing.  I think there was mustard in there too.

The inside looks less soggy, but it still wasn't a great sandwich.  I can get a plain old club sandwich at other places where it's not overdressed AND cheaper.  Save your Earl money for another choice.

I ALSO tried not one but two Earl cupcakes: chocolate and vanilla.

The vanilla got smooshed in transit - not Earl's fault.

Both cupcakes were a normal size and pretty tasty.  You can see the vanilla bean flecks in the vanilla frosting and the chocolate flavor was rich, not fake tasting.

What was extra great is that the vanilla one was filled with more vanilla inside the cake!  You guys know how I feel about cupcakes without filling inside - sacrilege!!!

The chocolate one was not filled but that could be an oversight.  Plus, it was the perfect opportunity to show you guys the CORRECT way to eat a cupcake.  This technique ensures an even cake:frosting ratio in every bite!

Wordless Wednesday: Breakfast Cone PLUS a Bonus!!

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop hosted by the flawless Focused on the Magic!

After nailing Carsland (three rides in an hour or so!  I TOTALLY win DCA), it was time for a little breakfast so I decided to try out the breakfast cone at the Cozy Cone Cafe.  It was eggs (from a mix I think), a cheesy creamy sauce (meh) and a stick of bacon (nice a crispy) in a bread cone.

The contents weren't bad but not great either.  I think it could have used more salt.  If they had salted the pretzel-like bread cone that might have helped!

Later I got a Red's Apple Freeze which was delicious.  I loved the sweet marshmallow foam topping!

Favorite Food Friday / Earl of Sandwich: Eat Every Sandwich Challenge: The All American

Welcome back to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by the dashing Disney Day by Day!

You guys may remember my first Earl of Sandwich review of the Full Montagu and the Original 1762 (and the Coronet Cakes): here.

Well when Sarah of the Eating WDW blog started participating in the Eat Each Sandwich challenge, I knew I had to join in as well!  I also reviewed the Chicken Chipotle Avocado Sandwich (and their chocolate chip coookie)!

Today we have The All American.

This was a far cry from the mediocre Chicken Chipotle. The flavors melded together perfectly.  The tangy cranberries offset the creamy cheddar and ranch, and the turkey provided good texture while allowing the other ingredients to shine through.

I also tried the cup o' mini muffins in Oatmeal Raisin.  They were meh.  The flavor was fine, but I couldn't tell if they were dense or stale.  I wouldn't have them again.

Wordless Wednesday: Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, Carsland, DCA

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop hosted by the fetching Focused on the Magic.

After I hit up Radiator Springs Racers and Luigi's Flying Tires, my next natural step was to try out Mater's Junkyard Jamboree!  I was a little embarrassed to be a single adult on this ride, but it was pretty cute and I liked the music.  Of course it was also perfectly themed.

Wordless Wednesday: Cinderella on Parade

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop hosted by the festive Focused on the Magic!

My mother dug this photo up from God knows where and I *think* it's from our Disneyland Paris trip back in the mid 1990s.  I wouldn't mind my commute if it involved this gorgeous glass pumpkin coach, that I DO know!

Favorite Food Friday: Earl of Sandwich Challenge

Hey guys! Welcome to Favorite Food Friday, hosted by the distinguished Disney Day by Day!

You guys may remember my first Earl of Sandwich review: here.

Well when Sarah of the Eating WDW blog started participating in the Eat Each Sandwich challenge, I knew I had to join in as well!

As you can tell by the first link, I've already tried the Original and the Full Montagu.  Next up, the Chicken Chipotle Avocado:

As you can see, I ordered it with the wheat bread.  I like to add a little fiber wherever I can.  I also got a chocolate chip cookie but it didn't make the pictures because I was super hungry and ate it on line.  It was good though - would have been better warm but JUST this side of underbaked where the chocolate is all gooey and the dough is soft on the inside, brown on the outside.

The chicken and chipotle sauce was tasty and I loved the warm crunch of the bread.  The one downside was that the avocado was not ripe enough.  It actually crunched a little when it should have been adding that yummy creaminess.  I LOVE avocado so this was a let down.

I don't think I'd pick this sandwich over the other two I've tried so far.  Onwards to the next one!

Wordless Wednesday: Luigi's Flying Tires Queue

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop
hosted by festive Focused on the Magic.

After I hit up Radiator Springs Racers, I knew I had to immediately head over to Luigi's Flying Tires.  With slow load times, this ride could have a long wait, my research indicated.

Fortunately for me, I was fast and early enough to be the only one in the queue!

I took a few shots (but not many - I had to get to the actual ride!)

Disney in Unexpected Places - Hakuna Matata!

Occasionally I like to write about when I find Disney in unexpected places.

Well I was at the Chobani store in Soho (the only Chobani store in the world!) and they had this player piano outside.  You could tweet a request to @StanleyPiano and it (he?) would play the song.

Apparently someone requested Hakuna Matata while I was there:

Here is the link to the video.  :)
