Although I'd been to Disney World many, many times prior, the first time I really became a Disney-phile was in my freshman year of high school. I was having a difficult time, so looking forward to the Disney trip served as the perfect distraction. We stayed at the Poly (per usual) and got to check out the parks during their 25th anniversary celebration. I recently found some old pictures from that trip and thought I'd share them here. Enjoy!
Cinderella Castle as a birthday cake.
Given that it was just temporary, I don't think it's as bad as everyone likes to complain about. It's whimsical!
Celebrating the 25th anniversary outside the MGM studios
(yeah I said MGM, that's what it was called back then!).

Awesome pictures, I was there that year too and it was so special. I love the Castle like that and your picture of it looks great...

Oh man, I remember when they did that. I'm like you, I didn't have a problem with it because it was temporary, and I thought it was fun and festive. Great flashback!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! We visited during the 25th anniversary celebration too. I liked the castle, I thought it was fun. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yea, I remember the cakecastle! It was pretty weird but knowing it was temporary wasn't too bad for us:)
ReplyDeleteLike you I brought back a former flashback this week. I just had to share it once again. I'm glad you did, yours is a great pic!
