Returning to my photo-recap of my March 2013 Disneyland trip, I had heard about the lighting ceremony at Carsland and VERY much wanted to see it in person. I ended up waiting around for about an hour - that sun just wouldn't go down dammit! I asked a couple castmembers and they said that it happens close to sunset and that I'd know it when the music changed.

All of a sudden, the music changed to a doo-wop song. One by one the neon lights came on.

Carsland is STUNNING at night, and then I hopped on a nighttime ride (my third of the trip) of Radiator Springs Racers. I must advise you to try this ride in the day AND nighttime. It's neat to see the differences.

ReplyDeleteWe were lucky enough to be there at the preview for Cars Lands. The gasps and then joy from everyone when the lighting ceremony started as no one knew it was coming is a memory I will keep with me for many years to come!
