Wordless Wednesday: This Is Really Good

Welcome to this week's Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop hosted by Focused on the Magic

Another trip with a friend to Earl of Sandwich in Manhattan finally FINISHING my Eat Each Sandwich challenge. (For links to the rest of my reviews, scroll down!)  Woot!! I have now eaten every hot sandwich available on the Earl of Sandwich menu.

Unfortunately, we're not ending on a high note.  The tuna melt on wheat was meh.  Too much mayo, not enough Swiss (what was there was sufficiently melty though).  Could have used more crunch from celery or something.  It kind of felt like nursing home food.

Also it's not that appetizing to look at.  Some green crunchy veggies and cheddar could have brought some color to the sandwich.

However, I am DELIGHTED to have finished my goal!  I will still go back to Earl for the breakfast sandwiches and desserts, but I feel like this was definitely an accomplishment for me.  Yay!

Favorite Food Friday: Earl of Sandwich Caprese

Welcome to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by Disney Day by Day!

As seems to be the custom lately, I had plans to swing by Earl in NYC for lunch with Disney friends over Memorial Day weekend.  We were devastated to learn that Earl is closed on Sundays!  Fortunately, my office was also closed on Monday for Memorial day, so I got to go back then.  I am so close to completing Eat Each Sandwich challenge! (For links to the rest of my reviews, scroll down!)

This time, I had the Caprese sandwich on white bread.  The bread was beautifully toasted as always and had pesto spread on it that really made the sandwich extra delicious

The tomatoes were fine and the mozzarella cheese was plentiful.  There was also a drizzle of balsamic vinegar reduction on it to add a little umami flavor.  My favorite part was the pesto though - without it the sandwich would have been unremarkable at best.
This was definitely one of my favorite Earl sandwiches in recent memory.

Favorite Food Friday: Earl of Sandwich Ham n Swiss

Welcome to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by the devious Disney Day by Day!

Another trip with a friend to Earl of Sandwich in Manhattan continuing on in my Eat Each Sandwich challenge. (For links to the rest of my reviews, scroll down!)

This time I went with the Ham and Swiss on wheat (my preferred kind of bread unless the sandwich really needs the white).

The sandwich was good. The cheese was nicely melty and the creaminess paired well with the ham.  The mustard wasn't very strong but didn't completely disappear against the fillings, and the wheat bread brought an extra dimension of flavor.

This sandwich isn't going to win any awards, nor is it the most unusual or creative option, but it does the job well.

Unverified Disney Treats

You may have read my Disney World To Do List where I keep track of all the things that I want to try/do at Disney World. A lot of these things I found on Disney blogs and podcasts which, let's be honest, are not always the most reliable sources.

So some of these items I have been unable to personally verify as existing.  If any of you guys can confirm the existence of these items (you have to have personally experienced it, not just heard about it from someone else), let me know!

Favorite Food Friday: Eat Every Earl of Sandwich: Cannonballs

Welcome to another Favorite Food Friday hosted by the delectable Disney Day by Day!

I know, I know.  It's been a while since I've posted.  I have a lot going on right now.  And hell, this is MY blog and I do what I want! :P

Recently I was able to meet up with some of my Disney friends and grab sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich in Manhattan.  This was the perfect opportunity not only to spend some quality time with wonderful friends but also to continue on the Eat Each Sandwich challenge. (For links to the rest of my reviews, scroll down!)

I was especially excited for this EoS trip because the Cannonballs were back for a limited time!  I had missed them before (1100 calories per sandwich is no joke) so I knew I had to make a point to try them out while they are available.

Honestly, it's a meatball sandwich.  Nothing remarkable.  Just Earl's good bread, toasted, with meatballs and marinara sauce and melted cheese.  It was fine but I have had better meatball sandwiches in the New York City area.

Still, I'm glad I got to cross this one off my list AND see some of my Disney buddies!
