I knew I had to try out the new Carthay Circle Restaurant while I was at DCA, so I made a solo dinner reservation.  Of course I was early, so I got to hang out in the bar and lounge downstairs for a bit.  The bar had some really neat deco ceiling lamps.

When I went upstairs to use the bathroom before my table was ready, I got a shot of the hallway and main dining room.

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the friendly Focused on the Magic!

Returning to my photo-recap of my March 2013 Disneyland trip, I had heard about the lighting ceremony at Carsland and VERY much wanted to see it in person.  I ended up waiting around for about an hour - that sun just wouldn't go down dammit!  I asked a couple castmembers and they said that it happens close to sunset and that I'd know it when the music changed.

All of a sudden, the music changed to a doo-wop song.  One by one the neon lights came on.  

Carsland is STUNNING at night, and then I hopped on a nighttime ride (my third of the trip) of Radiator Springs Racers.  I must advise you to try this ride in the day AND nighttime.  It's neat to see the differences.

Wordless Wednesday: Disney World in 1980

Welcome to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the Fantasmic Focused on the Magic.

I found these pictures at a garage sale!  They're dated on the back as from 1980.  I'm guessing it's a husband taking pictures of his beautiful new bride on their honeymoon!  I blocked her face to protect her privacy, whoever she is lol.

Here she is on Main Street in the Magic Kingdom.

They stayed at the Polynesian!  A close inspection shows their room was 1505.

Here's the interior of their room - it looks so different from the way it is now!  I personally remember the white/green lattice pattern by the old restaurants the Poly used to have.

Wordless Wednesday: Vintage Parade Shot

I came across an old picture of Tigger walking in a parade near Tomorrowland.  Can anyone determine the date based on the details in the photo?  I see my favorite blue strollers were still around - does anyone know when those changed over?  

I can also see the old Tomorrowland towers.  

Lots of clues but I'm not up on my Disney history enough to pin point a date!

I do love that Tigger is not that eye-searing safety orange color.  

He's just a normal orange - not matching a traffic cone.

Wordless Wednesday: Corn Dog Castle Cheddar Cheese Stick

Welcome back to another Wordless Wednesday hosted by the flourishing Focused on the Magic!

Later on in the day, I decided to snack on a cheddar cheese stick from the Corn Dog Castle.  I got there a little early so I sat and people-watched until it was open.  

I loveth the medieval style language in which the menu is writteneth!

Fresh and hot from the fryer, the outer crust was a crispy, the dough/bread was deliciously corn-y, and the cheese inside was melty and flavorful. 

YUM
